Hello, I’m Ms. Li, enjoying teaching Basic Mental Math for Kids at A-Team/San Mateo. I’m a lifelong classroom teacher. Taught 10+ years in China’s top elite high school and 20 more years in SFUSD. I took my early retirement to become a writer and now am an award-winning author of my book, The Red Sandals: A Memoir by Jing Li (2022) Call# BL68/SF Public Library Basic Mental Math for Kids class aims to teach American kids (K-3) to do math in their heads and calculate everyday money without using an electronic calculator. It’s real-life math skills.

Besides laying a foundation for their upgrader math learning, this basic mental math skills will also enable them to easily balance their checkbooks and file their own taxes without using an electronic calculator when they grow up. Right way of practice makes perfect. Your kids will learn in my class to power up their own brain and strengthen their hand/writing muscles.
